Dec
A little while ago I joint the Romance Read Club. By joining I get myself a free romance read every month. So when the December book ‘British Bedmate’ was send, and I read the book description, I immediately couldn’t wait to start reading. So when the book I read wasn’t working for me, I easily put it aside and started reading ‘British Bedmate’.
‘British Bedmate’ is the first book I read by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. I didn’t really know what to expect when I started reading this one, and I was a little afraid this book would have to much sex stuff and to little romance in it. And what I definitely didn’t expect was to read this book in only one day! But I definitely did that.
From the moment I started reading ‘British Bedmate’ I was hooked. This book just had it all. Their was plenty of romance, there where some sexy scenes but nothing to heavy, and above all this book was really funny. And I simply loved it and couldn’t stop reading until I read every single page and it was waaaaay past my bedtime.
Although I had my doubts about the main character Simon at the beginning. I definitely fell in love with him while reading this book. Yes he was rude, and he embarrassed Bridget almost all the time but he was also sweet and really funny. And add the whole doctor part and the British accent, and I was definitely smitten!
Bridget’s character was one I loved from the beginning. She was a single mother, and a hardworking nurse and I just loved her. It was fun getting to know her and her interactions with Simon where just really damn funny.
Overall, this book had everything I look for in a romance read. It was really funny and above all really romantic. The whole doctor and nurse thing was also fun to read, because I rarely read about doctor and nurses. (Probably because I am a nurse and I’m surrounded by doctors all the time and real-life isn’t as rose colored as the stories. But what is right?!)
Yep, ‘British Bedmate’ was definitely a very fun read!
