I wanted to conquer the world. She wanted to gaze at the stars.

It’s been twelve years since I last saw Scottie Rucker. A grim prognosis has upended my life, and no amount of my hard-earned money can fix it. So, after leaving a note on the nightstand, I search for my first love—I search for life.
When I find her in Austin, working at a quaint general store and living in an RV behind it, those twelve years vanish. She’s exactly how I remember her.

Scottie thinks our reunion is a small-world coincidence, and I’m not ready to tell her the truth. After we rekindle our friendship, she convinces me to work part-time at the store while she pursues her budding relationship with Koen, a welder and the grandson of a customer.

Scottie’s ability to live in the moment is exactly what I need. But how do I convince her new boyfriend that I’m not his competition?

And what happens if my heart changes its mind?

I’ve been reading Jewel E. Ann’s books for little over a year now, and the thing about her books that impresses me the most is that they are always so unique. With every book I read from her I am surprised with how things go. And I love that! So when I got the opportunity to read ‘I Thought of You’, I was so excited and started reading as soon as I could.

When you see the cover of ‘I Thought of You’, I promise you’ll have a totally different feeling about this book then when you actually read it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the cover.. but in my opinion it doesn’t fit the book that much. Because ‘I Thought of You’ is not your average romance novel. At all!

In ‘I Thought of You’ we read the story of Price and Scottie. Price and Scottie spend a magical summer together years ago. It was an epic romance. And they where both heartbroken when their summer and their romance ended. Scottie is one of those people that know how to live life to the fullest. She never wanted a big career or a fancy house, she just wants to live. And that is exactly why Price goes looking for Scottie years later.

Scottie believes seeing Price again after all these years is fate. They rekindle their friendship, and when Scottie meets Koen, a handsome charming guy, she tells Price all about him. All Price wants is to be close to Scottie, and learn her way of living. But he isn’t completely honest with Scottie. And when things with Koen become more serious, the friendship between Scottie and Price also becomes more complicated.

This book was something else. When you think you know how this book will go. Trust me.. You don’t. It was amazing! And I really enjoyed every moment of this read. Scottie’s character was one of my absolute favorites. Her way of living life is something I wish I could have more of. She don’t want much and has this happiness inside her that is just inspiring. I loved reading her story!

Price is one of those guys you can relate to in the way of how his life is. Working hard, forgetting to enjoy the little things, always busy.. Sounds familiar? Until one moment changes everything for him. Price needed Scottie in his life. Even when that meant only as a friend. Did I understand all of his choices? Not at all. But I feel like his character is very relatable because we all seem to be to busy these days.

And then there is Koen’s character. Trust me, I don’t enjoy love triangles, and this wasn’t one either. Koen’s character was lovely. He is definitely a guy a girl would want. And I loved getting to know him better and how he loved Scottie.

The romance in this book was fun. Different than expected, and above all it definitely wasn’t the point of this read. And I loved that. You’re in for a ride with this book and I’d really recommend it.
